Prelude

This blog is a depiction of my life's past, present and possibly, future- when I decide to invent a time machine.

Greetings to anyone who made the effort to visit(And of course, to those who stumbled into this page totally by chance). So for those who are here reading this, please turn a blind eye to the occasional over-cheesy post and the inevitable typo errors.

Have a nice day!
(Note: Refer to bottom of page for the "Korean Culture Shock-Heads up!" section where I jot down little oddities or just interesting facts about Korea, Seoul and its denizens)

A little rant

I'm leaving again in 15 hours. It's back to my studies and a whole new island filled with opportunities.
The mind involuntarily turns to home, to family, friends, the scenes, the smell, the sticky warmth of our Malaysian air.

Bye!!

~Almost 20 days later~

I'm awake at 3.28am because I most definitely not cleverly downed a cup of espresso at 10pm.
FYI, coffee works very well on me, unlike you people out there who'd like to brag at every opportunity about your immunity to caffeine.

(To Zahirah, sorry I couldn't come for your open house... and here's just an update of what's going down in Leeds)

Went through my job training and the actual thing with the University of Leeds's International Welcome Team. Yes, it's SUPPOSED to be spelt Leeds's bozo. The job was energy-sapping, very, but I enjoyed every bit of it despite my complaints about the boring airport shift. I did actually manage to entertain myself with a little creativity and Douglas Adams's books during those nothing-to-do hours at Leeds Bradford International.

Anywho, the job was really satisfying and I hope to do it again next year :). On the house front, it's not looking too good. My room's still pretty much in a state of disarray despite the earlier half-efforts today. The warm water stops flowing after 10-ish every night, the drying machine isn't drying properly and I just found out that we'll have someone extra living in the flat for the whole year. Wohoo.

MASSoc's been keeping me busy.
Yes, hitting a brick wall trying to get the message across the table about the righteousness of being sensitive. It really pains me to see how something I'm so passionate about walk achingly slow towards an ugly end.
Yes, my chances of becoming a tour guide's assistant's assistant just went up in flames with that wonderful performance on Saturday, making the most interesting building in the city of Leeds sound like the nondescript shop down the street that sells... what does it sell again?

Yes, I started to relax after an intense 2weeks just to realize that I have been too busy to actually feel depressed about many things. Now that I'm finally making an effort to not make an effort, I see my messy room for what it is, not a room filled with all the wonderful things i've amassed since I got here last year; I see now a messy room that- probably from the eyes of a normal person- represents the inadequate organization skills I possess.

You know how shit happens? Well, it's happening in abundance right now. I hope the garbage collectors in Leeds would stop their strike and come help me clean up the poo surrounding me right now. Thank you.

Unpress

I'm a little depressed now.
First of, it's because I abhor tidying up a place that is as messy as my room. The place I'm talking about is none other than my room. Don't you just get really annoyed when you have to sort through heaps of dusty items, deciding which one to throw and which one to stay (and continue their gallant dust-collecting spree).

Then I realize that I've done nothing to make my room more organized since I got back and have only started to do so, what, 5 days from the day of my departure.

One thought led to another, I'm now annoyed with myself that I have allowed 2 months+ to pass without attempting anything spectacular to mark the final long break before entering the working world. Which is why, I'm currently contemplating the option of offering myself another long break next year after graduating.

I blame the movie "Charlie Wilson's War".
Don't get me wrong, I like that piece of work. It's just pretty darn depressing to see that although the Soviets were shooed out of the country, seeds of violence and chaos were at the same time sewn into the land as the US did not stay on to tidy up the mess they made. Quoting Mr Wilson:
"These things happened. They were glorious and they changed the world... and then we f**ked up the endgame."

****************1 Day Later*****************

Don't ask me why I hadn't post this.

I'm now having a runny nose. Just like the GOOD OL' DAYS. I think the haze is playing a part, although... I cannot discount the fact that I stayed up til 4am last night watching Psych.

Gah...
Have to pack and get it done by monday morning.
