Anywho, the Christmas season proved to be fairly busy for me. Fortunately, this business of being busy was actually quite pleasant, in a sense that it doesn't involve brain wrecking and last ditch efforts of knowledge cramming. What it doesn't lack of this time around is gatherings and reunions. I went for my class reunion, a party with ex-schoolmates, a couple of family gatherings and dinners and some more. Meeting old friends, making new acquaintances, getting dumbfounded by too much socializing wasn't all that bad when compared to what happened last month. (Speaking of that, I do hope I pass my exams. Results will be posted online less that 48 hours later.. Aaaaahhhh! Cross fingers*)
As I was saying, the gatherings and reunions, especially the ex-classmates and ex-schoolmates revived some fond memories of the past and made me think about what I've achieved since then- nothing much. Apart from that sad thought, merely being able to be in the same room with a bunch of ol' mates was refreshing. I guess knowing that there are others out there who are almost in a similar situation as you can raise hopes that you are on the right path.
The family reunions on the other hand was more relaxed and casual, without jittery emotions and sweaty palm at parties in which you only know the host. Family dinners like the one we had last night don't happen often during the Christmas season. But since two of my cousins are spreading wings to further their studies abroad, we made an exception this year. (Photos below). One of them is leaving for the U.S in a couple of days while another, Canada. While I'm at this, I should point out that it isn't just them who are leaving the comforts of their home sweet home in the name of knowledge (and adventure:D). As the day I move to a hostel in Nilai creeps closer, I wonder if I'm going to survive without Astro. Something tells me that I would be too busy tending to more important matters, say, studying, to worry about what what Mrs. Van de Kamp and her buddies are up to next or the next booty shaking, skimpily dressed superstar to break into the charts on channel [V]. Not that I'm much of a D.Hsewives fan, really. I'm more of a AmazingraceBeckerSeinfeldLostMonkish kind of TV audience. Bottom line: I'll survive.
Having said that, all my hopes lie in the results that would be released in 2 days time.
pass, and I move forward; Fail, and be ready to face the torturing repercussions.
