Observations:
I think Malaysiakini is still what it used to be. It used to be a damn useful opposition news portal with pretty scandalous government-wrecking articles and biased columns. :P. Guilty of indulging in a little verbal-bashing, I had kept abreast with happenings on their website until late 2008. That was when I realized: although the news portal might be fun to read and all, (practically) baseless accusations and crazy stories won't do a person any good if he/she wants to gain a clearer picture of the going-ons in our country. So I switched to The Malaysian Insider, which was for 1 year plus, a reliable source of almost unbiased news (still leaned towards the opposition SOMETIMES lah).
Recently though, I was surprised when I returned to the crazy land of malaysiakini to find that they haven't changed a bit, except now, they throw dirt at BOTH the government and the opposition.
A very subtle change has also befallen the Malaysian Insider. It seems to me that news are pretty government-friendly. Even THAT BOZO gains positive press from TMI, I mean, I get it if corrupt politicians receive good press, but letting THAT BOZO get positive light, I'd rather NOT read the news at all. If this continues- I have a feeling that THE BOZO will touch on my nerves again- it would certainly be high time for me to switch to freemalaysiatoday.com for my daily dose of news back home.

YES my brothers and sistas, I'm talking about those ever-frequent by-elections! I don't know, but I think the pressure on Malaysian politicians nowadays is waaaay more immense compared to what those who were in the same "field" say, 5 years ago experienced. These days, I don't think those who have a weak heart should stand for any elections. WHY? Simply look at the number of MPs and ADUNs who've kicked the proverbial bucket after the last general elections and you'll find your answer. HAH, i say. What other proof do you need?
By making a few assumptions, I'm sure you will agree with me ;).
Assumption 1:
We assume that almost all politicians are corrupt to a certain extent.
This means they will experience an increase in more sleepless nights/ more minutes of tossing and turning before sleeping every night.(depends on the person's corruption-o-meter)
Assumption 2:
We assume that every politician has a corrupt-o-meter
Assumption 3:
Stress-induced food binging is a natural phenomena ('cus it IS!) And with the increase in nasi lemak and co. consumption everyday by stressed politicians, it's no wonder that we're observing this trend the past 2 1/2 years.
(spot the useless assumption)
Nonetheless, condolences to the ex-MPs and their families. I'm going to ground myself in Leeds again and focus on the impending doom ahead, knowing that more of such "programmes" will keep me entertained while I tackle the roadblocks en-route to graduation.
So CLOSE... yet...
