Prelude

This blog is a depiction of my life's past, present and possibly, future- when I decide to invent a time machine.

Greetings to anyone who made the effort to visit(And of course, to those who stumbled into this page totally by chance). So for those who are here reading this, please turn a blind eye to the occasional over-cheesy post and the inevitable typo errors.

Have a nice day!
(Note: Refer to bottom of page for the "Korean Culture Shock-Heads up!" section where I jot down little oddities or just interesting facts about Korea, Seoul and its denizens)

I know. And that scares the shit out of me.

Like the leaves falling from a tree, I float and drift.
deserting the branch and all its nourishment.

Tugging my hand
Wind carries me across vast strange landscapes
This maiden trail-blazing, also my last.

Into the quiet of night, we dance
Silence, its net descending
amidst blaring restlessness.

Darkness, so subtle
holding the light and day upon our heads
invisible, unknowingly, it creeps.

Swift and unforgiving,
It moves ahead, paving way for Wind and I
Tic. Land, Sea, Skies: where are your masters?
Toc.

Wind, bring me.
She awaits, the faceless half.
whispering, beckoning,
A shadow or a ghost?

Wind, bring me
He awaits, the Engineer
ready to swallow and feed
an emotionless void of profession

The Wind knows all.
But what if They were to tell you:
"There is no Wind"?

2 weeks

I feel like a caveman now.

We have a "TV" that can access youtube vids online (WHAT?)
I received a box so small, it looked as if a proposal ring could be inside. Turned out to be an ipod shuffle. SO COMPACT (OK, I've never owned any Mac, Ipod, Apple device in my life... so cut me some slack)
Papa's using an ipad.

Today would be spent planning. Planning what I should do for the next 2 weeks!

Slipping

I just took one of the worst subway rides in Korea. I don't mind standing, and I'm not that annoyed when we get pushed and nudged during rush hours (cus you expect that sort of behaviour to show its head during peak traffic). What I couldn't tolerate this morning, was the abysmal design of seats! It was metal, glossed, but smooth. This means that when you place ur butt on it, you tend to slide forward and end up with a hunch. I was so annoyed with it that I stood up and remained so for the rest of my journey to work. The idiots who designed it probably had some reason behind its material selection, but compromising friction with the arse of your fellow passengers is, in my opinion, a BIG mistake.

Then again, it could just be that my pants are extra .. slippery.

Recent happenings:

-Travelled to Jeju last weekend, when we got a holiday extension due to Children's day on Thurs and my company's off-day on Friday.
- Visited some temples on Tuesday in conjunction with Vesak day (Koreans celebrate it a week earlier).
- Fed up of being trapped by my own devices.
- Fed up of certain personalities @ the workplace.
- Less than 2 weeks til I return home for my 2 week break.

That's all for now.

subway tidbit

As I was standing in the subway car today, the train seemed to sway a little more than usual. I was missing my bed dearly and the urge to inflict violence upon the face in front of me crossed my mind. Mind you, it IS MONDAY.
The guy seated in front had done the very Korean thing of cutting in front of me before entering the subway. The pre-coffee, half-asleep me decided to hate his guts.

While we're on the topic of riding the ultra efficient Korean underground,  I have to admit to being a tad selfish sometimes (in thought). This applies especially when you've been standing for quite awhile and a seat in front you becomes available. I sometimes hope that there aren't any seniors or ladies standing beside me, lest I relent and allow them to take the empty spot, leaving me to surf the metro til my final destination.

Reenactment:
Guy prepares to get up from his seat in front of me.
(Yessss. I get to rest, finally!)
Little lady conveniently pushes her way over.
(AUurgghh.. /#"?*!%^#@!! )
*smiles at lady and continue standing.
Lady sits her ass down.

So yes, sometimes I think I oughtn't feel guilty about being a little selfish (in thought).
