Off the cuff: Movie review

So,
If one gets up at 3am, on a Saturday morning, what is one to do?
"Go back to sleep" comes to mind.


And what if one is still awake when the clock strikes 5?
Hmm.
Answer to that, for today: Go around looking for interesting articles, news, video clips, jokes online while chatting with random friends on a certain social networking site.


And if that still does not do the trick...
WELL, there's always the blog that's been cast aside in exchange for more time to be a product of one of the world's fastest growing mind-monitoring empire.


And what if the itch remains defiant, and DEMANDS to be scratched?
There is the option of contacting that someone who holds a very special place in your heart.
(Ok, this is out of the question for now, not because the balls have shrunk, but because it's 4am)


Caught between the shouts from drunk people still on the streets and the rattling of metro tracks as they start their operations for the day. A time when it's both too late and too early.


So perhaps a movie + review?


There is "The Adjustment Bureau". Just a few points...
- Started off well.
The election campaign of an energetic upstart. There's always something about politics and how it appears to have the power to change our daily lives, although circumstances these days suggest minimal alterations will be achieved to the facets within our comfort zone (unless it's a total upheaval). Yet, even with that knowledge, the idea of it- groups/ personalities who are driven and capable of steering a people towards the right direction- never fails to inspire hope within me.
Right, deviated a little there. So it started off well, with this guy and the mysterious woman, and the funny people in hats. It got me hooked, for awhile.


- Interesting metaphor(s). God, Angels, and us, the incapables, the destroyers of peace and self.
How everything is a plan by a higher order.
"He appears to people in different forms", paraphrasing what Harry said.


Much to my surprise, and to their credit, the movie drives home an important message, telling us that no matter what the "order/directive/plan" is, you are ultimately the master of your own future. Do what you do best, do what you know is right and do it even if it flies in the face of normalcy.


- Anti-climax. Unsatisfactory close-up.
So everything for a woman. I get that. That doesn't take away the fact that it gets a little boring, and the overly-dramatic opening of doors only made me chuckle inside, thinking of the endless possibilities if one were to invest some time in making a parody or two.
